DEGREE COURSES
The Medical University of Plovdiv is one of the four Bulgarian public universities and was founded in 1945. It includes the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Public Health, a Department of Languages and Specialist Training, and a Hospital with 2000 beds. In 1950 the faculty became the independent Medical Academy of Plovdiv. It was renamed in 1972 as the Higher Medical Institute of Plovdiv. The Faculty of Dentistry was founded in 1974, while a Medical College was created in 1997 as a branch of the Medical University of Plovdiv.
The Higher Medical Institute was renamed the Medical University of Plovdiv in 2002 after a decision by the Bulgarian National Assembly. The university has more than 3,500 national and international students, as well as more than 600 professors and researchers. The facilities include laboratories, clinics and units for diagnostics and treatment, research activities and training of medical and dental students. The Central University Library offers students 170,000 volumes in many languages as well as an internet room and a local network system (with Medline and Micromedex available). The university publishes a journal called Folia Medica, which is exchanged with more than 326 specialists from over 54 countries included in Medline.
As the official partner in Italy of Plovdiv Medical University, we have the exceptional opportunity to organize the entrance test for Medicine in Italy and Online. In order to be admitted to this University, candidates are required to take an entrance test. The exam consists of a written multiple-choice test in English (80 questions) on the subjects of biology (40 questions) and chemistry (40 questions). Through our preparation course, we will enable you to quickly acquire the necessary training to pass this entrance test.
The Plovdiv Medical University is one of the four public medical universities in Bulgaria, and was founded in 1974 based on the former regional hospital founded in 1865.
The Medical University of Pleven combines a large modern preclinical base, a hospital with specialized clinics and research sections. It has two faculties, the Faculty of Medicine which covers the subjects of medicine and rehabilitation and occupational therapy, and the Faculty of Public Health which covers healthcare.
In 1997 the university added an English-language medical program designed for international students. This was the first English-language medical program in Bulgaria. Since the 2000s, the Medical University of Pleven has had 4081 Bulgarian students and 582 foreigners from 45 countries and has about 750 new students every year, of whom 66% are Bulgarian and the rest foreigners, 50% of whom come from Italy.
DEGREE COURSES
Medicine Bulgaria Plovdiv: Degree course in Medicine in English for international students (360 ECTS, compulsory attendance). The degree program in medicine at the Medical University of Plovdiv follows the "Problem Based Learning" approach. This teaching method focuses on solving real health problems, making the degree course much more dynamic and realistic. Duration: 6 years. Start date: last week of September.
Dentistry: Degree course in English for international students (360 ECTS, compulsory attendance). Graduates receive the title of "Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)". The student is trained in modern and fully equipped facilities within the faculty. Duration: 5.5 years. Start date: last week of September.
Pharmacy: Degree course in English for international students (300 ECTS, compulsory attendance). The student is trained in modern and fully equipped facilities within the faculty. Duration: 5 years. Start date: last week of September.
