It is possible to obtain the Teaching Qualification in Romania

Universities in Romania and especially in Spain have seen numerous changes in recent years aimed at greater international openness and organizational efficiency. Thanks to these improvements, the universities make up a modern and dynamic academic environment, where it is possible to obtain internationally recognized degrees with extremely short timeframes and low costs. According to Directive 2005/36/EC (implemented in Italy through Legislative Decree No. 206 of November 6, 2007), teaching qualifications obtained in Romania are recognized throughout the European Union. Their validity in Italy, definitively confirmed by the Council of State ruling of 12/29/2022, allows you to apply as a teacher if you are legally qualified to teach in Romania. To obtain recognition in Italy, it is sufficient that the subjects taught and the age groups of students for which the applicant is qualified are comparable to those of the Italian school system (corresponding profession).
The teacher qualification course in Romania is divided into two levels. The first grants qualification for teaching in Middle Schools, the second for High Schools. Each lasts four months. LEVEL I
Qualification for teaching in Middle Schools. Duration of 750 hours, divided between teaching, practice, and individual study over a period of 4 months. Provides for the awarding of 30 educational credits (with 5 additional credits for the final exam) and a certificate.
LEVEL II
Qualification for teaching in High Schools. Duration of 750 hours, divided between teaching, practice, and individual study over a period of 4 months. Provides for the awarding of 30 educational credits (with 5 additional credits for the final exam) and a certificate. The complete course therefore takes place over a period of 8 months, divided into two academic semesters, for a total of 1,500 hours. It awards 60 educational credits with 10 additional credits for the final exams. Since they are considered two separate courses, upon completion of each level the university issues the relevant diploma. The minimum attendance required for the course to be valid corresponds to a period of 4 weeks, 2 for each level. The weeks are spread over the eight months of the course duration.
At the end of the course, it will be possible to request accreditation of the qualification to obtain the legal teaching qualification in Romania, which is in turn necessary to apply as a teacher in Italy.

The requirements for admission are possession of European citizenship and a master's degree or an old system degree. To enroll, it is necessary to have your degree recognized by the Romanian Ministry. It is also necessary to obtain a Romanian language C1 level certificate (even though the lessons are held in Romanian, students are supported by an Italian tutor).
Diplomati magistrali and ITP (Technical Practical Teachers) cannot access the teaching qualification course in Romania unless they possess other valid qualifications.
