FROM FOREIGN UNIVERSITIES TO ITALY: HOW THE TRANSFER WORKS
To transfer from a foreign university to an Italian university, you must wait for the so-called "transfer calls", which are actual competitions that Italian universities announce every year to make available any free places in years following the first in their courses.
After enrolling in the first year, it is possible that, for various reasons (withdrawals from studies, internal transfers between faculties, etc.), some places become available compared to those offered in the first year through entrance tests.
For this reason, universities announce these transfer calls to fill the gap left by the absence of a certain number of students who will arrive later for graduation.
WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE NEEDED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TRANSFER CALL?
Before answering this question, it is necessary to make a premise: transfer calls are not all the same because they are created directly by the universities and may be structured differently from one another.
They are usually announced between May and October, but it is necessary to be well prepared in advance to access them promptly.
In general, you will certainly need to obtain from your foreign university all the documentation relating to your course of study, including the study plan, the list of exams taken, and the related grades. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER PASSING THE TRANSFER CALL IN ITALY
The winners of the call (depending on the number of available places) will therefore obtain passing the transfer call which will allow them to access their degree faculty in Italy. Here, all the exams taken will be recognized, in whole or in part, and you will be able to obtain your degree in Italy directly without the need for subsequent recognition of your qualification by the Ministry of Education.
